Summary
- This act creates a process to convert a condominium in a townhome or townhouse after meeting certain requirements, including providing a notice of intent to any lienholders. The lienholder’s consent is not necessary, as the unit owner can consent on their behalf.
- Upon conversion, a townhome or townhouse unit will be considered to be owned in fee simple by the unit owner. The act explicitly avers that nothing in it should be construed as modifying any state or local building codes or zoning regulations to a condominium, townhome, townhouse, or conversion.
