Summary
- Requires cities within Metro with population greater than 10,000 to conduct housing needs analysis. This includes:
- An inventory of the supply of buildable lands in the city to determine the housing capacity.
- Conduct an analysis of the city’s existing and projected housing needs, breaking this down by housing type, mix, affordability and density range for the next 20 years.
- This analysis must be adopted as part of the city’s comprehensive plan no later than one year after the completion of the housing analysis.
- Provides optional process for housing production strategy and buildable lands and housing needs analysis for any city with population of 10,000 or less.
