Summary

  • Allows tiny house communities under the Growth Management Act, to be part of the affordable housing incentive programs (e.g. development or zoning provisions pertaining to density bonuses, height and bulk bonuses, fee waivers or exemptions, parking reductions, expedited permitting) to provide more affordable housing options inside and outside of Urban Growth Areas.
  • Specifies that tiny house communities may be part of a planning city’s permitted affordable housing incentive programs for the development of low-income housing units.
  • A tiny house community is defined as real property rented or held out for rent to others for the placement of tiny houses with wheels or tiny houses using the binding site plan method.
