Summary
- Adds tiny homes, which are typically manufactured, to Colorado’s manufactured homes regulations; requires the State Housing Board to promulgate rules establishing specific standards for tiny homes; and exempts tiny homes from sales and use tax while classifying them as residential improvements for property tax purposes, resulting in the landowner paying the lower residential property tax rate on land that includes a tiny home.
- Adds tiny homes to Colorado’s laws regulating mobile homes, including provisions governing notice requirements, limits and requirements on lease termination, security deposit regulations, entry fee prohibitions, antitrust prohibitions, prohibitions on selling fees and kickbacks, retaliation prohibitions, regulation of how and when park rules may be established, a right of first refusal when a mobile home park owner seeks to sell the park, a right to peaceful enjoyment, and available remedies.
