Summary
- Requires local governments to report annually on the number of housing units demolished in addition to the net number of new units of housing.
- Authorizes the Department of Housing and Community Development to request corrections to housing elements of an annual report within 90 days of receipt, providing 30 days for a local planning agency to make corrections.
- Authorizes the Department to reject annual reports for being out of compliance with state requirements as long as the Department provides the reasons for non-compliance in writing to the local planning agency.
- Requires the Department of Housing and Community Development to notify a local government if it is in violation of state law regarding annual reporting regarding its housing element and authorizes the Department to also notify the Attorney General regarding such a violation.
