Summary
- Declares that state and local agencies own thousands of parcels of land throughout the state, some of which exceed their foreseeable needs, and highlights Governor Gavin Newsom’s Executive Order N-06-19, which required the Department of General Services to create a digitized inventory of all state-owned parcels in excess of foreseeable needs.
- Requires local governments to make an inventory of all lands they control or own in excess of foreseeable needs in all urbanized areas and urban clusters, to report such information to the Department of Housing and Community Development, and to provide, upon request, the list to any citizen, limited dividend corporation, housing corporation, or nonprofit corporation.
