Summary
- This bill amends a section of the Government Code to expand density bonuses to developers who agree to construct shared housing buildings that contain either 10% of units for lower income households, or 5% of units for very-low-income households
- A “shared housing building” may include incidental commercial uses, provided that those commercial uses are otherwise allowable and are located only on the ground floor or the level of the shared housing building closest to the street or sidewalk of the shared housing building.
- Would prohibit local jurisdictions. from requiring any maximum density or minimum unit size/ bedroom/ private open space requirements in conflict with bill.
