Summary
- Instructs the Department of General Services, in consultation with the Department of Housing and Community Development, to develop criteria to evaluate state-owned parcels for suitability as affordable housing sites, to conduct a review of all state-owned property and identify state-owned parcels potentially viable for affordable housing, to contact related state agencies to determine excess state land, and to prioritize such land for development.
- Requires the Department of General Services to update its digitized inventory of excess state land suitable for affordable housing every four years and to pursue development of affordable housing on excess state properties.
- Requires that all state agencies respond to the Department of General Services request for information regarding excess land, to consider exchanging excess land with local governments for other parcels to develop and preserve affordable housing, and to use all authority to expedite and prioritize development of affordable housing.
