Summary
- Creates three programs within the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) to provide grant funding and other forms of state assistance to local governments to promote innovative solutions for affordable housing development statewide:
- Local Government Affordable Housing Development Incentives Grant Program: Provides grants to local governments that adopt at least three policy and regulatory tools from a specified menu of options designed to create incentives for affordable housing development.
- Local Government Planning Grant Program: Provides grants to local governments that lack one or more of the policy and regulatory tools required to qualify for the housing development incentives grant program and that would benefit from additional funding to develop and implement such tools.
- Affordable Housing Guided Toolkit and Local Officials Guide Program: Provides funding, through a competitive selection process, to qualified counties, municipalities, and federally recognized tribes within the state that commit to adopting best land use practices with demonstrated success in affordable housing development.
