Nicole Burek is a Graduate Data Research Assistant at the Furman Center and a second-year Master of Urban Planning student at NYU Wagner, where she specializes in City and Community Planning. A lifelong New Yorker and Queens native, her work sits at the intersection of data, mapping, and urban equity, with a focus on housing and community development. Prior to Wagner, Nicole earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Sociology from Binghamton University, where she led data efforts for the Student Tenants Union and received the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research for her thesis examining place attachment and gentrification in immigrant communities in New York City. She is skilled in R and ArcGIS Pro, and is committed to turning complex data into actionable insights for planners and policymakers.
