Chanaporn (New) Tohsuwanwanich is a Graduate Data Research Assistant at NYU Furman Center. She is pursuing a Master’s in Urban Planning at NYU Wagner, specializing in International Development Planning, where she focuses on how global cities finance and deliver housing and infrastructure to address affordability and equity challenges. She graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Geography and minors in Geographic Information Systems & Technologies and Urban & Regional Studies. She has conducted award-winning independent research on informal housing programs in Bangkok and land-use policy in Beverly Hills, drawing comparative insights from housing systems in the Global South and North. Her interests lie at the intersection of housing finance, land-use policy, and comparative urban development, with particular attention to how financing tools and regulatory frameworks shape housing outcomes across different national contexts.
