Summary
- Prohibits municipalities from requiring a change in the nonconforming use of any manufactured home lot within the boundaries of a manufactured home community if the nonconforming use is authorized by law and at least 50 percent of the manufactured home lots in the community are physically occupied by a manufactured home used as a residence.
- Allows owners to install a new or used manufactured home, regardless of size, in a manufactured home community for which a nonconforming use is authorized by law, provided that the manufactured home complies with nonconforming land use standards and all other applicable state and federal law and standards at the date of installation.
- Allows municipalities to prohibit the installation of manufactured homes on lots that are located in a designated floodplain, as long as it also prohibits construction of new single-family residences in the floodplain.
- Establishes a minimum of four spaces for lease for installing and occupying manufactured homes on a tract or parcel for a municipality to regulate it as a manufactured home community, park, or subdivision.
