Summary
- Establishes a transit-oriented development pilot program, effective January 1, 2024, that will provide funds for residential development. To be eligible, a municipality must have developable land within a 0.25-mile radius of a regional mobility hub or a 0.125-mile radius of a frequent transit stop, in addition to meeting criteria to be established by the Department of Housing.
- Suggested regulations for DOH to establish include requiring that the municipality introduce: an established zoning overlay district or other provisions that provide increased density for residential development at a minimum of 10 units per acre; mandates for the development of affordable housing; and the easing of dimensional restrictions and parking requirements for transit-oriented developments.
