Summary
- Requires that the Department of Housing and Community Development submit a report on efforts to promote fair housing choice and economic housing integration and the results of those efforts, in addition to an assessment of fair housing in accordance with the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule, to the Governor every five years. This report must include updates on actions taken by local jurisdictions. The law requires that the Department work with localities to develop a template and collect related data.
- Political subdivisions are required to submit fair housing assessments as part of the housing element of a comprehensive plan.
