Summary
- Authorize the Governor, on the recommendation of the Secretary of Housing and Community Development, to designate areas as Just Communities and provide for the prioritization of State funding to Just Communities in order to promote equity and address historic disinvestment and inclusion.
- Just Communities are areas that demonstrate need for reinvestment based on a number of enumerated datapoints, or have been impacted by past discriminatory state or private actions (e.g. ‘redlining’, exclusionary zoning, or racially restrictive covenants).
