Section 8 Home Ownership Program

The New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) Section 8 Home Ownership Program provides voucher assistance for families in Section 8 housing who must attend Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved homebuyer education classes. This program is intended for working families, seniors, and persons with disabilities, and the program currently serves a broader range of participants, including single- and two-parent families, grandparents, and single individuals. The program is offered statewide and exists as a pilot program in New York City.
