Summary
- Amends MD Housing and Community Development Code to alter the amount of a tax credit certificate that can be claimed for phased catalytic revitalization projects (defined as a substantial rehabilitation of a property that is out of service and formerly owned by the state or federal government, that will foster housing and economic development in a community).
- Prohibits the Secretary of Housing and Community Development from awarding certain credits for catalytic revitalization projects more than once within a two year period. The Secretary is also permitted to revoke credits if the individual, nonprofit organization, or business entity that received the tax credit certificate ceases rehabilitation of the project for which the tax credit certificate was awarded.
