Summary
- Allows a political subdivision to grant real property it owns to an entity for the development of one or more affordable housing units, as long as 20 percent of the housing units are affordable, defined as those in which a household earning no more than 50 percent of the area median income can reside while paying no more than 31 percent of its income for housing costs (including utilities).
- Allows the Executive Director of the Housing and Community Development Division to award predevelopment grants of up to $50,000 to nonprofit and for-profit entities in preparation for construction of low-income housing units in rural areas and less populated municipalities and counties.
