Summary
- Requires every municipality with a population of at least 90,000 to prepare a report on the amount of affordable housing units currently in use in the municipality that are subsidized by local government revenue or tax credits. Affordable housing is housing for households with income less than or equal to 80% of the area median income (AMI). Moderate income is greater than 80% AMI, but not more than 120% AMI.
- The report must detail how the municipality is limiting the cost of privately developed housing and the extent of the municipality’s engagement in rezoning for density, encouraging higher density residential development, allowing for single room occupancy development, and other enumerated activities related to affordable housing.
